“Do you ever look at your not-so-young self in the mirror and wonder, “What now?”
Midlife is typically defined as that stretch from your 40s into 60s, but age doesn’t always always define it. Midlife is packed with twists. Globally, it’s well-studied: the U-shaped happiness curve, empty nests, health wake-up calls, and rethinking purpose after decades of the grind.
But in urban India, it comes with it’s own unique chalenges. Workplaces are way more demanding, so life balance is different. Social and family expectations are not like the west. Infrastructure – like care-giving for ageing parents – is much weaker. We’re the sandwich generation, with an older generation which is deeply traditional, and a younger one we often struggle to relate to.
Add to that a pace that never slows, digital overload, and crazy pollution, and you ache for that quiet balance?
This site is being built to talk about Midlife in the Indian context. We’re diving deep into midlife challenges through an Indian lens—real stories from people like you, science-backed insights adapted for our context, practical tools to handle stress, rediscover joy, and build resilience. We’ll talk about mid-life from a place of understanding and expertise – these answers will be offered by a clinical psychologist.
We’re just starting, so come back in a few days to see how much progress we’ve made.
